The Year in Review
Holy moly! It's hard to believe that it's already Thanksgiving. We hope you get some rest, eat some wonderful food and enjoy your holiday season. Thank you for supporting Michigan music. We're starting to plan events and programming for 2026 but we're first taking a look back at what we accomplished in 2025.
Business in the Key of D
In 2025 we were honored to partner with the Wayne State University Music Department for a brand new Music Business and Educational Conference featuring 8 workshops and 3 panel discussions with more than 25+ Detroit music industry professionals.
“Michigan Music Alliance did a wonderful job organizing this event to bring musicians together, create a bridge for our statewide music community, and provide educational opportunities for us all.” - Jennifer Westwood
Music Econ Summit
After a successful one-day event in 2024 we were invited to take on the role of presenter for the 2025 Music Econ Summit, a three-day event at the Grand Rapids Center for Community Transformation. The 2025 Music Econ Summit featured over 120+ participants including 12 panelists, 5 presenters, 11 vendors and 22 showcases with 41 artists representing 15 different musical genres.
“If you are looking for a chance to connect with the music community in an encouraging and welcoming setting this event is a fantastic resource for networking, learning and engaging.” Scott Rider, Valentiger
B-Side Sessions
Our flagship professional development workshop series returned with renewed energy, offering practical business skills for working musicians led by local music industry experts on artist-focused topics including branding, working with labels, artist management and booking agents. During the 2025 B-Side Sessions we engaged with over 50+ live participants.

Industry Lunch
These casual, lunchtime meet-ups connected artists with other musicians, venue talent buyers, labels, managers, booking agents, and producers at independent music venues in Detroit, Kalamazoo, Traverse City and Grand Rapids.
In 2025 we hosted 4 Industry Lunch sessions in 4 Michigan music communities connecting more than 50 music professionals.

Membership
We launched our inaugural membership program in 2025 with a simple benefits package and a goal of gaining direct feedback from our members on what YOU would like to see for future member benefits. Current benefits include contract templates, a members only section on the MMA website, membership sticker, merch discounts and discounted entry to our events. So, what else would you like to see as a membership benefit?
